Faro Torres / 'Torres' Lighthouse

El Faro Torres es, desde 1923, el faro de Gijón. 90 años en servicio ininterrumpido, iluminando la noche de los navegantes, noches en calma y noches de galerna. A sus 90 años, una de sus pequeñas historias, una con un gato vagabundo, se transforma en álbum ilustrado. 2000 ejemplares editados por la Fundación Municipal de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Gijón.

The 'Torres' Lighthouse is, since 1923, the lighthouse of Gijón. 90 years in continuous service, illuminating the night of sailors, calm nights, stormy nights. And now one of his short stories, one with a stray cat, becomes into a picture book. 2000 copies published by the Municipal Foundation of Culture of the City of Gijón.

El libro se complementa con una breve guía con curiosidades del faro, su entorno, flora y avifauna. Luz y ambiente cambiante que acompañan al faro y son, en realidad, los auténticos co-protagonistas de esta pequeña historia. Edición en rústica, 24 páginas, formato 15x30 cm.

The book is complemented by a brief guide with curiosities about the lighthouse, its environment, flora and birdlife. The changing light and environment are, in fact, the real co-stars of this little story. Soft-cover book, 24 pages, 15x30 cm.

VIII Festival Aéreo 'Ciudad de Gijón' / 8th Airshow 'City of Gijón'

El Festival Aéreo 'Ciudad de Gijón' alcanza su octava edición en 2013. Por número de asistentes, se trata de una de las exhibiciones aéreas más importantes de Europa. Los espectadores podrán ver en acción a un histórico biplano De Havilland, un OV10 Bronco, o el impactante F16 Demo, entre otros. Para conmemorarlo, este es el cartel que me han encargado.

The Airshow 'City of Gijón' reaches its eighth edition this year. This is one of the main air shows in Europe, attending at the number of expectators. Attendees will see in action an historic biplane De Havilland, an OV10 Bronco, or the stunning F16 Demo, among others. To commemorate it, this is the poster I've developed.

Volumen ilustrado - II Certamen de Cuentos sobre Medio Ambiente / 2nd Contest of Stories about the Environment - Illustrated book

Tras el rotundo éxito de la primera edición, este año han sido más de 30 los centros educativos presentados, más de 300 cuentos originales, aún con una categoría menos a concurso. El acto de entrega de premios del II Certamen de Cuentos sobre Medio Ambiente es el eje sobre el que se construye la celebración del Día del Medio Ambiente en Gijón.

After the resounding success of the first edition, this year were presented over 300 original stories from more than 30 different schools, even with only four competition categories (last year were five categories). The awards ceremony of the II Contest of Stories about the Environment is the axis on which is built the celebration of World Environment Day in Gijón.

The illustrations and editorial concept continues the aesthetic parameters established ​​in its first edition (2012). This edition means the consolidation of this contest as a real incentive for student participation.

Ilustraciones y concepto editorial que siguen la estética y planteamiento conformado en su primera edición (2012), y que ahora se consolida como un incentivo para la participación de los escolares de Gijón.

El oficio de ilustrador es maravilloso. Te permite adentrarte en mundos nuevos, viajar, sobrevolar y compartir nuevas formas de entender, aplicar y difundir la ilustración. Hacerla útil.

Being an illustrator is wonderful. You can delve into new worlds, travel, fly and share new ways to understand, apply and disseminate the illustration. Making useful illustrations too.

Con motivo del décimo aniversario del Jardín Botánico Atlántico de Gijón (2003-2013), se ha desarrollado una nueva y actualizada guía del visitante, acompañada de un anexo con recorridos diseñados para personas con movilidad reducida, cuyo diseño e ilustración me han encomendado.

To mark the tenth anniversary of the Botanical Garden of Gijón (2003-2013), has been developed a new and updated visitor guide, accompanied by an annex with tours designed for people with limited mobility. I've been the person appointed to undertake this work.

Mi trabajo se ha completado con la ilustración de la nueva cartografía general y zonal de este museo vegetal, creada fidedignamente a partir de planos topográficos.

My work has been completed with the illustration of new general and zonal mapping of this plant museum, reliably created from topographic maps.

Tienda de plantas / Plant shop

La Tienda de Plantas del Jardín Botánico es el lugar perfecto donde encontrar especies diferentes, poco habituales. Creatividad, asesoramiento delicado y personalizado y excelente disponibilidad son marca de la casa. Unas características que debían estar presentes en su imagen y aplicaciones (cartelería, web y tarjetas), cuyo desarrollo me han confiado. La imagen está inspirada en la delicadeza que transmite un Iris reticulata "Rhapsody".

The Plant Shop at the Botanical Garden of Gijón is the perfect place to find different and rare species. Creativity, delicate and personalized advice and excellent availability are house brand. These characteristics should be present in the image and applications (signage, web and cards), whose development they have trusted me. The image is inspired by the delicacy that transmits Iris reticulata "Rhapsody".

Congreso en el Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid / Congress at the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid

El futuro del arbolado urbano y su interacción en nuestras ciudades será el hilo conductor del XV Congreso Nacional de Arboricultura, a celebrar a finales de mayo y principios de junio en el Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid, con la colaboración de Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).

En la imagen desarrollada he recurrido a la metáfora visual para generar una sensación evolutiva, desde los elementos metálicos, manufacturados, en la zona inferior (jaula y pie de la farola), hasta los elementos naturales de la zona superior (aves y copa del árbol). La niña, símbolo de futuro, como nexo entre ambos conceptos. El resultado muestra la transformación de la ciudad y la repercusión positiva de las intervenciones paisajísticas en la configuración urbana.

The future of urban trees and their interaction in our cities will be the theme of the XV Congress of Arboriculture, to be held in late May and early June in the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid, supported by the National Research Council (CSIC).

In the image I've tried to generate a visual metaphor for evolutionary sense, from the manufactured and metal elements in the bottom (foot cage and the lamppost) to the natural elements of the upper area (birds and tree). The girl represents the future, linking both concepts. The result shows the transformation of the city and the positive impact of landscape interventions in urban settings.
