Crear ilusión y hacer vivir la magia en la mente de los demás es un arte mágico en su esencia. Es como hacer partícipes a los demás de una parte de tu alma. Y saber trasladar las palabras con el alma necesaria siempre me ha parecido una cualidad envidiable. Al abrigo de los cuentos es el nuevo espectáculo de Olga Cuervo, que tendrá cabida en colegios y bibliotecas, centros sociales y casas de cultura.

Create illusion and keeping the magic alive in the minds of others is a magical art in its essence. It is like share a part of your soul with the people. And knowing the words to move the soul always seems to me an enviable quality. Sheltered by the stories is the new storytelling show of Olga Cuervo, and will take place in schools and libraries, community centers and houses of culture.

Día Mundial de las Aves 2012 / 2012 World Bird Day

El 7 de octubre es el Día Mundial de las Aves. En el Botánico de Gijón se celebrará con talleres infantiles, proyecciones audiovisuales y exposiciones fotográficas del colectivo ornitológico, observación de aves y vuelo y exhibición de rapaces, entre las que se encuentran varios ejemplares del Águila de Harris, protagonista del cartel. Una ilustración naturalista en la que quería recuperar el aire de las ilustraciones con las que muchos ornitólogos completan sus cuadernos de campo.

The World Bird Day in on October 7. The program of celebrations at the Botanical Garden of Gijón will host children's workshops, audiovisual and photographic exhibitions of ornithological groups, birdwatching and raptor airshow... One of the species at this show is the Harris' Hawk, star of the poster. A naturalist illustration in which I wanted to recover the aspect of the illustrations with many ornithologists complete their field notebooks.

Semana Europea de la Movilidad 2012 / European Mobility Week 2012

Los actos de celebración de esta iniciativa en Gijón culminarán el próximo sábado día 22 de septiembre con una marcha cicloturista urbana abierta a todo aquel que desee participar, siguiendo el recorrido Playa de Poniente - Jardín Botánico. Aquí, el cartel.

La Copa Davis en Gijón / Davis Cup at Gijón

El sorteo de la semifinal de la Copa Davis de Tenis, que enfrentará a las selecciones de España y EE.UU. en Gijón, se celebrará el próximo día 13 de septiembre en el Jardín Botánico Atlántico. A tal efecto, se acondicionará la antigua cancha de tenis de arcilla prensada, construida a finales del s. XIX, lo que la convierte en la primera de Asturias y una de las primeras de España. Un entorno simbólico y singular.

The draw for the semi-final of the Davis Cup (that will face in Gijón the national teams of Spain and the U.S.), will be held on September 13 at the Botanic Garden. For this purpose, shall be conditioned the ancient tennis court, built in the late s. XIX, which makes it the oldest of Asturias and one of the first in Spain. A symbolic and unique environment.

Con este motivo, desde el Jardín me han encargado una serie de ilustraciones fotográficas que muestren el espacio simulado, con tamaños y proporciones reales de todos los elementos, formando así un dossier de trabajo para las instituciones implicadas.

For this reason, the Botanical Garden has asked me a series of photographic illustrations showing the simulated space, with real sizes and proportions of all the elements, with the objective of create a dossier of work for the institutions involved.

La colmena viajera - zoom interactivo / The travelling beehive - interactive zoom

El fin didáctico fue uno de los objetivos para la creación de las ilustraciones desarrolladas para La colmena viajera. Ello, unido al formato de la publicación (láminas de 60 cm de ancho, a doble página), me permitió profundizar en gran cantidad de detalles que pasaban desapercibidos en la edición digital. Ahora, el libro ya puede ser explorado en su totalidad gracias al zoom interactivo que ofrece, a cada click de ratón, 300%, 600% y 900% de ampliación.

The didactic purpose was one of the objectives for creating the illustrations for The travelling beehive. This, together with the publication format (plates 60 cm wide, double-page), allowed me to delve into many details that went unnoticed in the online edition. The book can now be fully explored thanks to the interactive zoom, wich offers, each mouse click, 300%, 600% and 900% magnification.

The next November, Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz, Spain) hosts the 15th National Congress of Arboriculture. Todo por la patria, querida es una apuesta diferente: un comunicador (Pachi Poncela) y una actriz (Olga Cuervo) conversan en un encuentro casual. La vida, las personas, las dificultades, la política y la sociedad, lo divino y lo humano... fina e inteligente ironía contestataria en un espectáculo concebido, más que ninguno, para divertir y, si la carcajada lo permite, reflexionar. Y todo amenizado por la música en directo del tercero en discordia (David Varela).

All for the Fatherland, my dear is a different show: a communicator (Pachi Poncela) and one actress (Olga Cuervo) meet in a casual encounter. Life, people, problems, politics and society, the divine and human ... rebellious irony, fine and intelligent, in a show conceived, rather than none, for fun and, between laughs, think a bit. And all entertained by live music of the "umpire" (David Varela), which also cause hilarious misunderstandings.
