Para conmemorar los primeros treinta años de vida de un pionero programa municipal de formación para adultos, la Fundación Municipal de Cultura y Universidad Popular de Gijón ha contado con mi colaboración en la creación de una nueva imagen. Transmitir la cercanía, lo ensoñador y menos racional, la celebración, la polivalencia y amplitud del programa de cursos y, sobre todo, la apertura de posibilidades profesionales y personales que aporta, han sido los puntos de partida para generar una imagen nueva y sugerente.

To commemorate the first thirty years of life of a pilot local program for adult education, the Municipal Foundation of Culture and Popular University of Gijón has commissioned me to create a new image for this important anniversary. Convey the closeness, the most dreamy and less rational aspect, the air of celebration, the versatility and breadth of this program and, especially, the opening of professional and personal opportunities it provides, has been the starting points to generate a new and suggestive image.

Historia del arte, cocina, música tradicional, jardinería, literatura, fotografía, restauración de muebles, teatro, danza, historia antigua, yoga, astronomía, informática... son algunas de las disciplinas que, a lo largo de más de 140 cursos ofertados en este programa de gran arraigo en Gijón, la Fundación pone a disposición del público en los diferentes centros municipales, en dos convocatorias: febrero y octubre de 2012.

History of art, cuisine, traditional music, gardening, literature, photography, furniture restoration, theater, dance, ancient history, yoga, astronomy, computing ... these are some of the disciplines, across more than 140 courses offered in this program deeply rooted in Gijón. An offer of the Municipal Foundation of Culture at all the community centers in two calls: February and October 2012.

I Certamen de Cuentos sobre el Medio Ambiente / 1st. Contest of Stories about the Environment

Hoy la Alcaldesa Carmen Moriyón ha presentado en el Ayuntamiento de Gijón el Primer Certamen de Cuentos sobre el Medio Ambiente. Dirigido a estudiantes, el certamen se estructura en cinco categorías de participación, desde primer curso de Educación Primaria hasta Bachillerato. Los cuentos ganadores se publicarán en un volumen ilustrado que se presentará con motivo del Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente, el próximo 5 de junio de 2012.

The Mayor Carmen Moriyón has presented today in the Town Hall of Gijón the First Contest of Stories about the Environment. Aimed at students, the contest is divided into five categories of participation, from the first year of primary education to secondary education. Winning tales will be published in an illustrated volume, wich will be presented the next World Environment Day, on June 5, 2012.

Un certamen que nace de la mano del Servicio de Medio Ambiente del Ayuntamiento de Gijón y la Fundación Municipal de Cultura, con proyección de futuro en próximos años. Arriba, la ilustración creada para la cartelería, marcapáginas y dípticos informativos de esta primera convocatoria.

XIV Salón del Libro Iberoamericano de Gijón / 14th Latin American Book Fair of Gijón

Este año el Salón del Libro Iberoamericano de Gijón se celebra en octubre. Abajo, el cartel de esta edición, a punto ya de comenzar. Un encuentro internacional de escritores, editores y libreros, organizado por el escritor chileno Luis Sepúlveda y la Asociación Cultural "Literastur".
